Job Description

The Data Platform team's mission is to engineer and deliver self-service, performant and resilient data service products for its internal customers (app-dev teams). Our platform products power analytics, reporting, machine learning, AI and data applications across the bank.

As a subject matter expert (SME) you will be working closely with Architecture, Security, Application & other Infrastructure teams to understand requirements and develop Product Strategy for Data Platforms contributing towards business goals. Working closely with Product Owners, you will create roadmaps and deliver the products. We are seeking an experienced, driven, SME who is passionate about improving data user productivity and defining the next generation platform products for how data services are produced and consumed. Preference to candidates who have experience in software development and knowledge of SCRUM and SAFe frameworks.

Responsibilities include:

• Establish the vision for next generation data engineering products.

• Challenge the status quo and inspire people to think outside the box.

• Efficiently execute to ship products and deliver impact for our data engineers, solving technical and operational problems as they relate to product development.

• Lead conversations with cross-functional groups of engineers across Data Strategy, Data Platform, and Data Engineering to deliver on your teams’ mission.

• Build alignment across product teams, cross-functional partners and Leadership/Executive team

• Communicate concisely with engineering and product leadership, and influence our technical strategy

• Develop the product roadmap and build consensus on prioritization which drives product execution

• Create processes for collecting feedback from users, and prioritizing requests across an expanding number of businesses

• Define key success metrics and SLOs to inform product success and health

• Providing guidance on database / platform design as and when required.

• Sound knowledge of enterprise data management and engineering practices

Qualifications / Skills:

• 12+ years hands-on DBA experience with data analysis and design using one or more relational databases (Oracle, SQL server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.).

• 6+ years in managing team, working together and owning data platform group.

• Proficient in Database management and Database concepts

• Good knowledge of schema design, archiving, compression and purging of data

• Experience in Managing Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI & OCC) and Database Migrations to Cloud, Exadata Migrations.

• Terraform and Git

• Ability to perform performance monitoring, analysis and tuning to optimize DB performance

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

• Be able to provide tactical & strategic direction from performance & scalability perspective of a database system

• Skilled in data platform supporting tools like Oracle Enterprise Manager

• Experience with one of the data replication platforms like Golden Gate, Attunity and Stream Sets

• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and proficient in using developer tools

• Identify areas of opportunity for process optimization and automation

• A desire to become a subject matter expert (SME) in their field

• Team player who is self-motivated with strong work ethics

• Ability to learn and implement product management practices

• Preference given to candidates with 2+ years of product management experience

• OCI Solution Architect - Associate Certification

Work Schedule

• Work From Office – 4 days a week

• Shift Timing - 2 to 11 PM IST

• Location – Hyderabad or Bangalore only (Candidates not willing to relocate need not apply)
