State Street Global Technology Services (GTS) is seeking an accomplished and experienced Business Technology Risk Advisor - Managing Director to assist leadership in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risk. This individual will possess comprehensive knowledge of contemporary industry methodologies for evaluating, implementing, and enhancing processes and tools, backed by relevant technology experience. The successful candidate will review existing procedures and implement effective improvements, demonstrating strong leadership to deliver timely results.

The First Line Risk and Control function acts as an independent first line partner with each of the technology business lines, partnering with the relevant CIO’s for each area. The role will be part of the FLRC global team.

Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement process enhancements aligned with business objectives
Plan and execute projects aimed at risk reduction
Utilize re-engineering techniques to optimize process efficiency and product quality
Collaborate on metrics development and leverage data to drive performance improvements
Partner with second and third lines of defence, ensuring alignment with risk management and control goals
Core Competencies
Extensive expertise in risk management
Proficient understanding of process improvement methodologies, such as Six Sigma
Proven track record in leading process optimization initiatives
Superior verbal and written communication abilities
Ability to excel in dynamic, fast-paced environments
Advanced critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills that anticipate business, regulatory, and technological risk exposures
Talent for articulating risk and control considerations to senior management
Strong execution and program management capabilities
Collaborative approach, with the ability to engage multiple stakeholders
Competence in managing complex tasks through effective prioritization
Technical Expertise
Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Extensive understanding of SDLC methodologies including Agile, Waterfall, and DevOps
Experience in managing and mitigating risks throughout the SDLC
Capability to conduct risk assessments and audits during SDLC phases
Infrastructure
Profound knowledge of network architecture and infrastructure components
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
Proficient in identifying and addressing infrastructure security and performance risks
Overall Technical Skills
In-depth understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices
Skilled in utilizing risk management tools and software
Analytical abilities to interpret technical data and recognize potential risks
Experience designing and executing risk mitigation strategies

Technology Risk Frameworks
Knowledge of COBIT for IT governance and management
Familiarity with NIST frameworks for cybersecurity and risk management
Understanding of ITIL for IT service management and risk mitigation
Education & Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, IT Security, Risk Management, or related discipline required
Advanced degree preferred
Minimum of 15 years’ proven experience in risk management, auditing standards, and best practices, with at least 10 years in a leadership capacity
