Enterprise Risk Management, Risk Governance Vice President

Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) organisation is part of State Street Corporation (SSC) Second Line of Defence (SLOD). ERM is responsible for thought leadership, oversight, monitoring, and remediation of enterprise wide risks.
Who we are looking for
As part of the global ERM function, the successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and executing the enterprise risk management framework and programs within Singapore. The role is accountable for ensuring effective identification, measurement, control and management of the relevant risks facing State Street in Singapore and improving the overall risk posture.
Additionally, the role is responsible for ensuring the respective risk programs mitigate applicable risks, and comply with corporate and local requirements, whilst working collaboratively with Risk and Compliance peers and other corporate functions such as the Legal, Corporate Audit as well as regulatory authorities.
Role Summary:
The ERM VP is a member of the Enterprise Risk Management team, reporting to the APAC Head of Risk Governance based in Australia and locally to the Country Head Singapore.
Other Key Responsibilities Include:
- Responsible for developing and managing the overall risk management programs of State Street’s business units to ensure effective identification, measurement, control and management of the relevant risks including but not limited to operational and resiliency risks
- Ensure the respective risk programs address all relevant risks as well as corporate and local requirements, collaborate with and coordinate assistance from functional risk subject matter experts (SMEs) across both Financial and Non-financial material risks including operational risk, technology and resiliency risk, third party, fiduciary and credit risk
- Demonstrates strong self-management and consistently delivers results with minimal supervision
- Monitor applicable changes in the risk profile and provide effective change management to address such changes
- Provide strategic risk oversight through the identification of key risk issues and trends
- Oversee the development, implementation, review and revisions of risk management policies, procedures and systems as appropriate
- Chair or participate in business, legal entity, regional, or corporate-wide committees to review and oversee relevant risk management issues; ensure that relevant risk-related management information is produced and reviewed at appropriate intervals
- Report regularly to legal entity, regional and corporate committees or Boards, with appropriate, timely and relevant information so the members can discharge their responsibilities effectively
- Work closely with Management to establish an appropriate risk management culture and promote a culture of effective challenge
- Maintain effective communication channels with all key business leaders within the Singapore legal entities
- Oversee the engagement with regulatory agencies, internal and external advisors and other internal control groups on risk related issues
- Maintain the highest standards of conduct and integrity and ensure compliance with accepted industry practice, company policies, statute and regulatory requirements
Qualifications:
- Minimum of least fifteen years of relevant experience in banking with a risk focus, preferably within a GSIB or related operational setting ideally with proven experience in custody or global markets
- Deep knowledge and understanding of risk and compliance management principles, strategies and emerging trends
- Experience with or working knowledge of Singapore banking regulations
- Demonstrated experience evaluating risk issues with the ability to develop strategies to mitigate those risks for a multi-jurisdictional financial services company
- Highly organised with extensive analytical, problem-solving and negotiation skills
- Quick thinker with proven interpersonal and communication skills at the Management level
