Role Overview: The position is titled Markets Intelligence Specialist. This is a dynamic, hands-on role that covers the entire end-to-end business information and data workflows from discovery through production deployment. As a member of a globally located team, the successful candidate will creatively apply modern AI and data science techniques on relevant platforms, such as Databricks, while working closely with our technology partners. The focus will be on actionable insights and pre-empting key trends to deliver on-demand, ML-powered insights to business leaders across the firm.

Key Responsibilities:

- Contributing across the data science lifecycle, including problem framing, exploratory data analysis (EDA), pipeline engineering (ETL/ELT), feature engineering, modelling, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring, with guidance from senior business leaders.

- Utilizing Databricks for analytics and machine learning, including notebooks (Python/SQL/R), Delta Lake for reliable data, Unity Catalog for governed access and lineage, MLflow for experiment/model tracking, and collaborating with IT to implement Jobs/Workflows for scheduling recurring analytics/ML tasks.

- Building towards a single source of truth (SSOT) by integrating disparate datasets and leveraging Python and PySpark on Databricks.

- Implementing quality measures such as unit/integration tests, data validation, and drift/bias monitoring to maintain reproducible experiments and clear documentation.

- Communicating clearly by clarifying requirements, proposing iterative solutions, and presenting findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders using effective visualization tools like Databricks SQL dashboards and/or Power BI/Tableau integrations.

- Focusing on impactful analyses that will significantly contribute to business objectives.

- Collaborating with technology teams to ensure that models and analytics align with platform strategy, governance, lineage, and auditability without managing infrastructure (e.g., VPCs, cluster sizing).

Required Qualifications:

- A BS/MS in a quantitative field or equivalent experience, with up to 3 years in data science or machine learning.

- A solid grasp of experimental design, model validation, and metrics, with familiarity with MLOps concepts needed to work with IT to implement MLOps using MLflow.

- Proficiency in Python and SQL, along with experience in exploratory analysis and feature engineering in Databricks notebooks.

- Familiarity with Databricks user workflows, including Delta Lake, Unity Catalog (governed access/lineage), MLflow, and Jobs/Workflows for scheduled runs.

- Strong collaboration and communication skills, a question-first approach, and comfort in engaging with business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Exposure to AI/LLMs (e.g., prompt engineering/evaluation, RAG) and Databricks AutoML/Mosaic AI for rapid prototyping.

- Advanced Python skills for data science and strong knowledge of PySpark.

- Experience building Databricks SQL dashboards and/or integrating with Power BI/Tableau.

- Knowledge of time series or NLP.

- An interest in financial markets and instruments.
