Who we are looking for

A qualified individual with strong experience in Data Management Operations, Data Analysis, Governance and Controls, in order to strategically implement State Street front to back service model for our clients. You will work with a team of Data subject matter experts and operational teams defining the future operating model, creating test case scenarios, documenting operational controls and procedures supporting service definition, operational readiness and client conversions/transitions to BAU. The successful candidate must have excellent verbal, written and presentation skills; understand global portfolio and investment management, trading and compliance across asset classes along with the associated analytics; and proven ability to liaise between business, implementation, product and technology teams with strong collaboration skills.

What you will be responsible for

  • This client facing role will be responsible for planning, overseeing and executing operational implementation and transition onto service management of State Street’s Alpha Data Platform for our clients
  • Identifying operational optimization needs, providing recommendations and supporting the implementation process from operational onboarding perspective
  • Defining and implementing operational controls and test cases, identifying system and operational gaps, proposing operating model and system development solutions to support client’s transition into BAU
  • Partnering with cross-functional teams to define the new front-to-back model for State Street Alpha
  • Designing and set up of the operational control framework (OCF) including client requirement gathering, creating OCF business solution document, development and set up of the controls in client test environment as well as end to end testing (internal and client user acceptance testing)
  • Ensuring operational process design aligns with client Service Level Agreements and associated KPIs
  • Lead workflow and daily/monthly data delivery cycle analysis for testing of current and future state data models and architecture (including usability, end to end data and process verification, back-end database and system validation)
  • Assessing system/product capabilities and identifying potential functionality gaps based on client requirements; working with Product Management team to input into design of product functionality
  • Defining and creating the Operational Playbook and Client Service Support documentation outlining BAU processes, escalation matrix, client support model in BAU
  • Planning and leading the pre-go live conversion activities, client onboarding events and parallel run phases of the project including defining the entry and exit criteria as well as managing the go/no go decision making process with the client
  • Monitoring of the OCF controls and checks and scheduled jobs/batch processes during implementation and pre-go live period as well as HyperCare (initial post golive support) as well as the resulting analysis and investigation of any exceptions or job failures
  • Input into BAU/operational resource requirements for BAU transition and support activities as well as driving the handover process between implementation and BAU teams internally as well as with the client
  • Leading and managing the HyperCare process post client go live and facilitating communication and collaboration between implementation and BAU teams; effectively managing, logging and escalating key production issues /exceptions as well as overseeing their resolution
  • Providing regular status updates and supporting HyperCare reporting as required
  • Ensuring fund changes/adds/deletes are completed as required and reflected correctly in ADP environments
  • Ensuring documentation is provided as to pain points recognized during implementation to highlight where HyperCare focus may be needed during client transition stage

Additional requirement

  • Strong hands-on experience in operational, control and governance design in delivery/implementation projects in Financial Services industry
  • Experience of working with data management platforms, complex data architecture and performing data validation
  • Strong team management experience in operational design / data management / software development projects from an implementation and BAU perspective
  • Strong technical skills in data management and operational control design including SQL, Toad
  • Experience of client operational onboarding and managing client transitions into BAU and go live processes
  • Investment management experience and Charles River (CRD) experience highly desirable
  • Experience of integrating with other industry software providers to promote platform interoperability (i.e. Bloomberg PORT, CRD, BRS Aladdin, SimCorp Dimension, Factset, Fidessa Minerva, Eze Software, etc.)
  • Client engagement and expectation management across project life cycle
  • Strong analytical, reconcilement and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, globally structured and team-based environment, as well as independently while handling multiple tasks
  • Strong experience with MS Office (e.g. Visio, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure a plus
  • Experience in Agile Methodology and Testing tools (i.e. JIRA, Rally, RTC, QC) preferred
  • Highly collaborative and flexible. Ability to build effective working relationships with others inside and outside the organization, including leadership
  • Knowledge of State Street systems would be beneficial

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or above.
  • Minimum of 8+ (AVP) or 12+ (VP) years of financial industry experience across front office functionality along with middle (IBOR) and back office systems, services and data domains.
