Who we are looking for
We are seeking a Business Analyst to manage the Data Platform for Charles River Development (CRD). The ideal candidate has exceptional communication skills, can translate complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences, and excels at collaborating with cross-functional teams. They will become Charles River product experts and ensure our software effectively supports end users in Front Office and Middle Office workflows.
The Business Analyst will work within the Market Data Interface module, participating in the full software development lifecycle as part of a feature-focused product team. The role requires familiarity with both financial and technical concepts and the ability to deliver specific requirements in a timely manner.
As a pivotal member of Charles River, the Business Analyst will help drive product strategy, design, and development to meet market demand. This includes building client relationships to inform detailed requirements for new offers. Working closely with the external Data vendor teams & internal product stakeholders, the Business Analyst will define and prioritize requirements and validate deliverables.

What you are responsible for
Drive Product Development & Lifecycle
- Apply your deep understanding of business requirements and workflows to shape innovative product solutions.
- Research and craft clear, actionable business and technical requirement documents.
- Partner directly with clients and product management to capture needs and translate them into feature specifications.
- Collaborate with development teams to design, implement, and refine impactful features.
- Prioritize customer, market, and internal requirements to ensure we deliver what matters most.
- Provide insightful feedback to continuously improve product performance.
- Work with documentation teams to create accurate, user-friendly product materials.
- Support client beta testing and training teams on new product capabilities.
- Assist implementation and support teams in resolving complex client issues.
- Play an active role in Agile ceremonies—daily standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives—helping drive team success.
- Participate in testing activities to ensure quality and reliability.
- Help manage product backlogs and optimize engineering capacity for maximum impact.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for development teams, guiding technical decisions with business insight.
Be the Data Interface module expert
- Own the management of reference and market data, including securities pricing and corporate action.
- Design and maintain data mapping logic across systems and sources.
- Use SQL and programming tools to transform, validate, and reconcile data seamlessly.
- Monitor and enhance data quality across critical platforms—portfolio management, trading, risk, and reporting.
- Implement robust data governance policies and ensure compliance.
- Investigate data issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive effective remediation strategies.
- Deliver analytical insights to client-facing teams and stakeholders.
- Automate data validation and reconciliation processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Engage and Influence Stakeholders
- Build strong relationships across the organization to understand data needs and deliver tailored solutions.
- Act as the go-to expert for data-related queries and issue resolution.
- Ensure timely delivery of solutions and change initiatives that empower clients with accurate, reliable data.
- Collaborate with Professional Services, Technical Implementation, Relationship Managers, Support, and Operations to align tools and processes with stakeholder needs.
Education and Preferred Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Computer Science, or Business Administration with specialization in Finance.
- Master’s degree in Finance will be an asset.
Experience
- Minimum 5+ years in software development, business analysis, or financial technology.
- Strong knowledge of Capital Markets, preferably with expertise in Fixed Income securities and trade flow.
- Strong background in data integration, including knowledge of data formats (JSON, XML) and consistency models in distributed systems.
- Solid understanding of Azure cloud services and SaaS platforms.
- Proven experience working within Agile frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban), leading sprints, and using tools such as Jira or Trello.
- Ability to contribute effectively to product management or software engineering teams.
- Experience collaborating with remote and distributed teams.
- Exceptional communication and documentation skills.
- Demonstrated success working with multiple business stakeholders in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
- Experience with Security Reference data management is a plus.
- Financial Services industry experience is strongly preferred.
