Who we are looking for

The Officer will assume a pivotal role in directing and supervising fund accounting and administration for alternative investment clients, encompassing hedge funds and private markets structures. The position is accountable for ensuring precision and timeliness in client deliverables, adherence to internal control frameworks, and fostering strong client relationships.

What you will be responsible for

As Fund Accounting Officer you will:

  • Oversee, monitor, and review client deliverables to ensure quality standards are consistently maintained. Plan and manage the daily processes and the effective utilization of resources with the support of the AVP.

  • Conduct a comprehensive review of work completed by oversight teams or execute the task directly when required.

  • Lead and manage all aspects of fund operations for your assigned entities—from capital call preparation and review through bookkeeping checks, NAV pack verifications, investor reporting, and audit coordination.

  • Identify and resolve issues in service delivery, implement corrective actions as needed, and ensure Key Performance Indicators are prepared and distributed on time.

  • Review corporate documentation on processes, procedures and controls to determine their ongoing effectiveness, and implement corrective measures where required.

  • Track and log errors, complaints, and possible breaches promptly in the Errors Log to maintain compliance and service quality.

  • Manage absences, time keeping and holiday/cover arrangements within the teams.

  • Ensure contingency plans are in place for the team’s activities and, where appropriate, contribute to the development and testing of business continuity plans.

  • Participate in the development, testing and implementation of new systems and applications.

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, third parties, and colleagues, ensuring effective communication through formal reports and ad hoc interactions.

  • Assume responsibility for the implementation of client specific Fund Accounting projects (new business development review, planning & roll out).

  • Ensure Vice President Assistant Vice President & CRM are adequately updated on a regular basis regarding all aspects of your client/s account, highlighting all potential risks with possible solutions in a timely manner.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years working in the provision of PERE fund administration services or have worked in another aspect of the Financial Services Industry for a number of years. (Preferably other service provider / audit or ect.)

  • Highly computer literate

  • Investran / eFront / Geneva knowledge is an asset.

  • Finance, Accounting, Business Degree would be an asset
