State Street Investment Management (SSIM) is looking for a Vice President, Defined Contribution Regional Consultant– Central (Illinois) or West (California) -- within our US Wealth Client Coverage Group (CCG). This role will focus on business development DC specialists/consultants within the Central or West Region. The role reports into the Head of DC Intermediary.
This role plays a key focus in driving SSIM’s sales strategy to grow and expand market share within the Central or West Region. SSIM’s DC product suite includes world class target date funds, index, in-plan retirement income solutions, DC-focused private markets solutions, and other multi-asset class strategies across equity and fixed income. We are also a leading player in ETF, Cash, and DB strategies.
The role is a sales leader who will be responsible for creating, identifying, and advancing their sales pipeline of activity as well as closing new business opportunities. You will engage internally across the organization which requires a candidate who is a strong culture fit. We want our RCs to build positive relationships across the broader sales, relationship management, product marketing, operations, legal, compliance and other internal teams.
As a Defined Contribution Regional Consultant:
- You will personally own key client and strategic partner relationships as a member of the US Wealth Client Coverage Team. The position will cover DC specialists, regional consultants, record keeper partners, and other key COIs.
- You will identify the needs of our clients’ varying business practices and regularly provide meaningful market insights, product information, investment ideas and sales support.
- You will have a keen investment acumen and operate as an expert on State Street Investment Management’s DC capabilities including CITs, target date funds, index, in-plan retirement income solutions, DC-focused private markets solutions, and other multi-asset class strategies across equity and fixed income.
- You will cultivate new and existing relationships, driving Net New Revenue and Net New Assets with the highest areas of concentrated retirement business within the channel.
- You will be responsible for leading and coordinating travel throughout the Region with SMEs, asset management partners, and our ETF team.
- You will build and maintain relationships with key internal business partners, including Internal Sales, Marketing, Research, and Client Enablement Teams to effectively deliver SSIM DC resources to clients, including comparative analytics, capital markets insights and actionable investment ideas.
- You will partner with an Internal Sales Team to effectively deliver SSIM resources to clients, including comparative analytics, capital markets insights and actionable investment ideas.
- You will facilitate an understanding of SSIM and its strategy and priorities.
- You will mentor and groom internal peers on the team.
- You will deliver risk excellence and comply with the sales supervision culture that demonstrates and promotes the highest ethical standards.
- You will demonstrate initiative to continuously hone sales skills and pursue professional development.
These skills will help you succeed in this role:
- You are required to reside in either Illinois or California
- Bachelor's degree required
- FINRA 7, 63 required.
- Willingness to travel within defined geographic territory (up to 50%).
- Minimum of 7-10 experience and a successful track record selling to DC Advisors and Consultants with a proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
- Ability to demonstrate how to prioritize and achieve sales measurements and sales targets.
- Strong investment acumen and knowledge of target date funds, index, and multi-asset class solutions.
- Existing industry relationships with DC advisors/consultants and their research teams.
- Ability to work successfully within a team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A positive attitude with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
- Investment industry designations such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) desired.
- Extraordinary verbal and written communication and sales presentation skills.
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly while applying creativity.
Salary Range:
$110,000 - $188,750 AnnualThe range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
