Who are we looking for

We are looking for compliance associate for second line of defense reporting directly to Supervisor or Manager, and work with a team of professionals to develop and execute conduct risk policy monitoring, Resolve employee(s) queries related to policy requirements, assist with regular and ad-hoc tasks related to policy administration, assist with management reports, be vigilant of any potential incidents of non-compliance.

This position is perfect for an individual who has experience with Personal Account Dealing, Internal controls, compliance or audit functions. The role will be performed in Bangalore, India.

CRMO is part of the Corporate Compliance and has Second Line of Defense (SLoD) responsibility for Global Personal Investment Policy, State Street Investment Management Code of Ethics, Global Conflicts of Interest Policy, Global Outside Activity Policy and Standard of Conduct. The Conduct Risk Management Office is also responsible for:

  • Internal policies and procedures, to maintain the Ethical environment within the organization
  • Educating employees on the policy requirements

Key Responsibilities

As a compliance associate you will:

  • Develop a strong understanding of State Street’s key compliance policies including the Standard of Conduct, State Street Investment Management Code of Ethics, and Global Personal Investment Policy.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with compliance requirements related to personal investments
  • Monitor and resolve alerts generated from employee trade approvals and transactions in line with standard operating procedures.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for compliance systems, enhance existing procedures, and create new ones as needed.
  • Ensure all discrepancies are escalated appropriately in a timely manner Escalate discrepancies promptly and appropriately.
  • Prioritize tasks, pay attention to detail, and address employee queries related to personal investments and compliance.
  • Assist employees and management with questions regarding conduct risk policies .
  • Support management reporting through data collection, analysis, formatting, and quality assurance.
  • Perform ad-hoc projects and requests

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Sound knowledge of secondary markets and financial products.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to handle daily employee queries via email and calls.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple evolving priorities, and show initiative and adaptability.
  • A collaborative mindset to engage effectively with State Street employees.
  • Strong attention to detail and prioritization skills.
  • Quick learning ability in dynamic environments.
  • Educational and technical qualifications include a bachelor's degree or equivalent and 1-2 years of relevant experience in compliance personal account dealing. Proficiency in MS Office tools such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook are also required.
