The Data Intelligence – Web Scraping Data Analyst will be part of a global team that is focused on executing the growth plan and achieving State Street’s data strategy. You will be part of a global team that is focused on developing new relationships with both current clients and prospects by providing new innovative data products and unique insights. An outgoing personality, entrepreneurial mind set, and comfort in learning new technologies is critical to success in this role.

Developers daily economic indicators using online price data. We specialize in combining technology and economics to innovate the way inflation is measured. Our work is grounded on the research conducted by the Billion Prices Project at MIT and Harvard University. The candidate will be a talented and smart individual who will develop and maintain our web scraping and data analysis operations. Ideal candidates will be detail oriented and focused on high quality.

The team you’ll be joining is part of State Street Data Intelligence (SSDI), a division dedicated to transforming data into actionable insights for smarter investment decisions. Launched in 2025, SSDI develops and delivers innovative products that give clients a competitive edge through unique data sets, including State Street’s proprietary data assets. Our current offerings include the State Street PriceStats Indices—trusted by hundreds of investors and multiple central banks worldwide—and the State Street Private Capital Indices, which help investors construct and benchmark private equity and credit portfolios. Looking ahead, SSDI is pursuing an ambitious strategy to expand into additional asset classes, providing clients with in depth data on deals and portfolio companies to enhance due diligence and investment selection.

What you will be responsible for

- Develop scrape jobs for new web sites

- Transform unstructured data to load into the data warehouse

 - Examine collected data to assess characteristics and data quality

- Ability to investigate discrepancies in data using SQL

- Identify root causes for data problems and report findings

- Develop, evaluate and test resolutions

• Understanding of SQL for Microsoft SQL Server
• Knowledge of HTML and web technologies
• Understanding of regular expressions and prior experience with web scraping is a plus, but not required.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

 Technical degree from an accredited university or equivalent experience.
