Role Overview
The APAC Junior Data Centre Manager supports the operation, reliability, and continuous improvement of data center facilities across the Asia-Pacific region. Working under the guidance of senior data center leadership, this role assists in managing day-to-day operations, vendor coordination, compliance, and regional standardization to ensure safe, secure, and highly available infrastructure.
This role is ideal for an early-career data center professional seeking regional exposure in a large-scale, mission-critical environment.
Key Responsibilities
Data Centre Operations
- Support daily operations of APAC data center facilities, including monitoring uptime, performance, and incidents
- Assist in coordinating maintenance, upgrades, and capacity planning activities
- Help ensure adherence to SLAs, KPIs, and operational procedures
- Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews
- Co ordinate IT equipment installation
- Manage Data Center infrastructure inventories and DCIM
Regional Coordination
- Act as a point of contact between local site teams and regional leadership
- Support standardization of processes, documentation, and reporting across APAC sites
- Assist with regional audits, assessments, and site readiness activities
- Support cross-border coordination across multiple time zones
Vendor & Facilities Support
- Assist in managing third-party vendors, colocation providers, and contractors
- Monitor vendor performance against SLAs and escalate issues as required
- Support facilities activities related to power, cooling, cabling, and physical access
Security, Risk & Compliance
- Support compliance with regional and global standards (e.g. ISO 27001, SOC, PCI-DSS)
- Assist with access control, physical security, and safety procedures
- Participate in business continuity and disaster recovery planning exercises
- Support audit preparation and documentation
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Prepare operational reports, dashboards, and regional status updates
- Identify operational risks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities
- Support automation, tooling, and process improvement initiatives
- Maintain accurate documentation, runbooks, and asset records
Required Skills & Experience
- 2–4 years’ experience in data centre operations, IT infrastructure, Structured cabling, or facilities support
- Basic understanding of data centre infrastructure (servers, storage, networking, power, cooling)
- Familiarity with incident, change, and problem management processes
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work across cultures, regions, and time zones
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English, Mandarin is essential and Cantonese beneficial
Desirable Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, or related field
- Entry-level or intermediate certifications (e.g. ITIL Foundation, CDCP, CompTIA Network+)
- Experience in colocation, enterprise, or cloud-adjacent environments
- Exposure to APAC regulatory or operational environments
Working Conditions
- Regional travel within APAC as required
- On-call or after-hours support on a rotational basis
- Combination of office, remote, and data centre floor work
