Corporate Functions Technology
Location: Flexible (US / EMEA / APAC, aligned to State Street office locations)
Job Type: Full‑time
Who we are looking for
The VP – Head of Audit Technology is a senior technology leadership role responsible for defining and executing the technology strategy that enables State Street’s Corporate Audit function. Reporting to the Head of Corporate Functions Technology, this role owns the delivery, evolution, and operational effectiveness of audit technology platforms used by Corporate Audit teams globally.
In this role, you will partner closely with Corporate Audit leadership to ensure auditors are equipped with modern, scalable, and well‑governed technology capabilities, including data, analytics, automation, and emerging AI‑enabled solutions.
You will lead teams of technologists and developers, drive platform adoption, and ensure audit technology investments measurably improve audit quality, efficiency, and insight.
Why this role is important to us
State Street’s Corporate Audit function plays a critical role in providing independent assurance over a complex, global, and highly regulated organization. As technology risk, data, and AI become increasingly central to that mission, audit effectiveness depends on strong, fit‑for‑purpose technology enablement.
In this role, you will help modernize how audit is executed at scale—supporting consistent global delivery, deeper risk insight, and responsible innovation—while maintaining the rigor and discipline expected by senior management and regulators.
What you will be responsible for
Audit Technology Strategy & Roadmap
- Partner with Audit to define and maintain a multi‑year Audit Technology strategy and roadmap, aligned to State Street’s enterprise technology direction
- Own the end‑to‑end audit technology ecosystem, including audit management platforms, analytics tooling, automation, and supporting infrastructure
- Translate Corporate Audit needs into clear, prioritized technology initiatives with measurable business outcomes
Technology Delivery & Execution
- Lead the design, build, and deployment of technology solutions supporting:
- Audit planning (including risk assessment), execution, and issue management
- Data‑driven testing and advanced analytics
- Continuous monitoring and thematic risk analysis
- Scalable global audit delivery across regions and audit types
- Ensure solutions are robust, well‑governed, and aligned with Corporate Audit methodology and GTS standards
- Drive adoption and consistent usage across audit teams
AI‑Enabled Audit Capabilities (Preferred)
- Lead the implementation of AI‑enabled capabilities for auditors, aligned with State Street’s enterprise AI principles and governance expectations
- Partner with audit leadership to support coverage of AI governance, data quality, model risk, and emerging technologies
- Ensure AI is embedded responsibly into audit workflows, with appropriate controls and human oversight
Stakeholder Partnership & Governance
- Serve as the primary technology partner to Corporate Audit senior leadership
- Collaborate with Enterprise Technology, Cybersecurity, Data, Risk, and Compliance teams to ensure alignment and reuse where appropriate
- Support audit leadership in regulatory and senior management discussions related to audit technology and analytics
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and develop a high‑performing team of audit technologists, engineers, data specialists, and platform owners
- Provide hands‑on leadership to developers and delivery teams, setting clear priorities and standards
- Manage delivery across onshore and offshore teams
- Oversee third‑party vendors and strategic partners supporting audit technology initiatives
What we value
These skills will help you succeed in this role:
- Strong technology leadership combined with credible audit or risk domain experience
- Ability to translate complex audit needs into practical, scalable technology solutions
- Experience managing high‑performing teams and developers
- Clear communication and the ability to influence across functions
- A pragmatic approach to innovation, risk, and control
Education & Preferred Qualifications
- 12+ years of experience across Audit or Audit Technology Delivery, preferably in financial services or other regulated environments
- Demonstrated experience in audit leadership and/or audit technology execution and implementation
- Proven people leadership experience managing technology teams, not solely audit professionals

- Exposure to AI‑enabled capabilities in audit, risk, or control functions preferred
