Alpha Data Services seeks team player with strong experience and analytics interest in the content and management of data within Order management systems used for trading and decision support as part of the growth in demand within Alpha Data services and our clients.
State Street is making a multi-year strategic investment in Alpha Data Services, we need a strong data Analyst practitioner to work with internally and with clients and prospects on to ensure our services continue to mitigate the risk of modelling, trading and regulatory reporting errors which could arise from inaccurate data within our platforms as part of are ongoing service delivery team.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Data specialist to join our Data team with experience and knowledge of Asset management functions and platform content.
This role is critical in ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and availability of data used across investment, risk, compliance, and client reporting functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial instruments, data governance, and data quality frameworks, with hands-on experience in SQL and programming languages to support data mapping, transformation, and analysis.
This role will report to the ADS Sec Master and Issuer Practice for America responsible for development and maturity / build out of our EDM platform, adding new domains and ensuring there is continuity in the configuration & operating models.
The role is accountable for ensuring that ADS commitments are clearly documents and managed in accordance and for managing the risk of delays slippage and communications out to the wider team
This is a proactive role to improve the confidence in the ADS product commitments to clients and will involve producing documentation, testing and co-ordination of teams across multiple disciplines within State Street and Charles River.
Responsibilities
- Data Delivery:
- Monitor and suggest ways to improve the time to market and data availability of data for testing into Implementation teams
- Document requirements from the implementations which are accepted by the Practice leads as core enhancements
- Work with operations teams to improve the consistency of operating model and closure of any gaps identified
- Own the implementation documentation around EDM, basecamp standards, operational UI configurations and look for ways to mature these
- Conduct root cause analysis of data issues and recommend remediation strategies which are raised by Implementation teams
- Data Operations & Mapping:
- Manage and maintain reference and market data mappings for sources into EDM (e.g., securities, benchmarks, pricing).
- Develop and maintain data mapping logic across systems and data sources.
- Use SQL and programming tools to transform, validate, and reconcile data across platforms to ensure the platform is performing as expected
- Analytics & Reporting:
- Work with eh insights & Analytics teams to mature and maintain dashboards and reports to track data availability metrics with regular cadence with End ot end test teams to ensure they are leveraging them
- Provide support to client EDM Professional Services teams and Model office teams to ensure Model office is tested and managed
- Assist in the automation of data validation and testing practices in Model office
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
- Act as a point of contact for data-related queries and issue resolution.
- Support timely delivery of solution and change initiatives for our clients with accurate and timely data.
Skills & Attributes:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experienced working Order Management systems gained from AIM, Charles River or Alladin
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- Proactive mindset with a continuous improvement approach.
- Experience across the full data science project lifecycle
Education & Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- Experience in data analysis or data management within asset management or financial services.
- Experience with data management platforms and market data providers (e.g., Bloomberg, Refinitiv).
- Knowledge of data governance frameworks and regulatory requirements (e.g., MiFID II, ESG reporting) is a plus.
- Strong understanding of financial instruments (equities, fixed income, derivatives).
- Experience with SQL, Python, R, or similar languages for data transformation and automation.
Salary Range:
$90,000 - $157,500 AnnualThe range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
