Who we are looking for
We are looking for a Managing Director to join the Alternatives team in Luxembourg. This senior managerial position in Global delivery sits within the Private Markets Business Unit of the State Street Alternative Investment Solutions Group. The role involves regular interaction with internal and external stakeholders at all levels; therefore, exceptional interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Candidates must demonstrate leadership, initiative, the ability to work well under pressure, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. The role includes maintaining direct client relationships and overseeing the fund accounting service for multiple client‑sponsored investment funds in the Luxembourg market. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of the Luxembourg alternatives market across asset classes such as Semi‑Liquid, Private Credit, and Private Equity.
What you will be responsible for
As Alternatives Fund Accounting, Managing Director you will :
Focus on client outcomes, problem solving, cooperating and communicating with the rest of organization to achieve shared success-
Develop and lead a large team, fostering high performance and creating a destination for top talent. Develop effective modes of communication, delegation, talent development, employee engagement, and succession planning.
Drive accounting transformation initiatives, promoting solutions that reduce risk and improve productivity.
Manage priorities and internal workflows to ensure strong client service levels. Overseeing the production of Fund Accounting deliverables (NAVs, managed accounts, budgets, etc.) for both clients and internal stakeholders.
Ensure timeliness and accuracy of all Fund Accounting deliverables.
Develop a positive, collaborative working culture within the Fund Administration team, aligned with our corporate values.
Maintain strong working relationships with key client contacts, including investment professionals, investors, auditors, lawyers, and banking personnel
Actively participate in industry events and forums and share insights with clients and internal colleagues to anticipate clients’ needs and market trends
Collaborate with other team leads to ensure coordination of deliverables and achievement of company goals.
Monitor adherence to client SLAs and implement relevant MI to ensure the service delivery meets State Street standards.
Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements and escalate service issues to the relevant committees and GmbH outsourcing forums.
Provide KRI reporting to senior management and risk forums
Support new business onboarding and client pitches to win new mandates
Implement and Foster a risk‑excellence framework across the department.

Excellent time management, presentation skills and communication to multiple levels (clients, peers, subordinates etc.)
Proven track record of achieving/exceeding financial goals through delivering on efficiency targets and enhancements of op model as well as overall expense discipline
Experience with change management programs in sponsorship, leadership roles.
Demonstrated ability to execute under challenging circumstances and deliver targeted outcomes
Demonstrated ability to manage, coach and influence colleagues and virtual team members
Education & Preferred Qualifications
University degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Mathematics, Finance, Economics or similar.
15+ years of experience in Fund administration, including 8 years of managerial experience
Professional accounting qualification is a plus, but not required
Experience in the private equity or real estate industry and financial reporting experience or relevant related experience
Familiarity with the Luxembourg regulatory environment is highly desirable (including an understanding of the various filing requirements for different entity types and associated deadlines)
Sound computer skills are required, especially Microsoft Office, particularly MS Excel.
