Who we are looking for

This is a key leadership position in Global Delivery India, as well as the India Fund Accounting & Administration management team.

Within Global Delivery, the Accounting teams are responsible for delivering core services to State Street end customers. The Head of Insurance Accounting is directly accountable for positive and consistent service delivery and client outcomes. The Accounting functions support US, European & Middle East clients.

This role also requires significant leadership within the region/location and legal entity.

While this role is advertised to be in Hyderabad/Coimbatore, as such the role could be location agnostic in a location where we have a significant presence in India.

What you will be responsible for

As Head of Insurance Accounting, you are responsible for implementing strategy and delivery.

  • Reporting to the Head of India Fund Accounting & Administration and ensuring services are meeting or exceeding State Street Standards globally.

  • Ensure timeliness and accuracy across all relevant functions.

  • Directly accountable for the production and deliverables performed by State Street India

  • Work closely with the global heads to develop, monitor and action the business plan and budgets for those business activities performed at State Street India in line with corporate and division goals.

  • Ensure that the business has the right resources, including staff, training, oversight and control functions, IT and financial, to operate effectively.

  • Drive continuous improvement: productivity, quality, and Risk Excellence; key KPI’s include driving down aged defects and budgets.

  • Identify and develop opportunities for transformation and capacity creation.

  • Ensure teams are in compliance with internal and external regulations and follow escalation procedures.

  • Ensure that all procedures are reviewed regularly, and that proposed changes are vetted with the global heads prior to implementation in order to maintain global alignment.

  • Conduct periodic business reviews ensuring associated risks are identified and managed and remedial action is taken where appropriate. Ensure that appropriate management information is produced and reviewed at regular intervals.

  • Proactive expense management, including headcount, in line with the budget.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • 18 years + experience in financial services, presently in a leadership role managing large operations

  • Technical knowledge of fund accounting activities and associated regulations

  • Navigate a large, global organization. Build meaningful relationships and develop an effective network

  • Work successfully in a matrixed environment. Effectively manage multiple stakeholders, determine highest priorities for the organization, identify and resolve contention between directives

  • Proven leadership skills as well as managing and developing a high performing operations team

  • Experience interfacing at a senior level with Clients, service providers and Regulators

  • Proven track record of achieving/exceeding financial goals through expense discipline and headcount management

  • Experience with change management programs in sponsorship, leadership roles

  • Demonstrated ability to execute under challenging circumstances and deliver targeted outcomes

  • Demonstrated ability to manage, coach and influence colleagues and virtual team members

  • Cross-cultural awareness and the ability to connect with colleagues globally in a collaborative, open work environment. To serve as a role model of acceptance and flexibility in dealing with colleagues with varying backgrounds
