Who are we Looking
The Managing Director, Client Implementation Executive, is accountable for the commercial, operational, and strategic success of State Street Alpha client implementations. This role owns delivery outcomes for the firm’s most complex, high‑value, and visible client transformations and acts as State Street’s senior executive authority for implementation execution.
The role operates at the intersection of client partnership, delivery governance, and strategic change, with direct accountability for execution credibility, risk management, and value realization. It requires the judgment to lead through ambiguity, the authority to challenge both clients and internal senior leadership, and the discipline to ensure delivery integrity at scale.
This is a senior leadership role, expected to influence direction across the Alpha Implementation organization and the broader enterprise.

State Street Alpha is a flagship enterprise platform that connects front, middle, and back office capabilities across the investment lifecycle. Alpha implementations are mission‑critical, multi‑year transformations that materially affect client operating models, risk posture, and competitive positioning.
As a Managing Director, Client Implementation Executive, you will directly represent State Street at the most senior client levels, ensuring Alpha implementations are delivered with discipline, transparency, and executive credibility in a complex and fast‑moving market environment.
Executive Accountability
The Managing Director, Client Implementation Executive is the single point of accountability for:
Successful delivery of Alpha implementation programs
Maintenance of delivery credibility with client executive leadership
Protection of State Street’s operational, reputational, and commercial interests
Executive‑level governance, escalation, and decision‑making
Long‑term client relationship health during and after transformation
Enterprise‑Level Program Ownership
- Own end‑to‑end accountability for Alpha implementation programs, including client outcomes, delivery integrity, and executive stakeholder confidence
- Set program direction and success criteria aligned to Alpha strategy, contractual commitments, and client business objectives
- Approve and govern integrated delivery plans across State Street teams, clients, and critical third‑party providers
Executive Governance & Risk Leadership
- Establish and chair executive‑level internal and client governance forums
- Serve as the senior escalation authority for delivery risks, issues, and strategic trade‑offs
- Ensure transparent, decision‑ready reporting to internal executives and client leadership
- Own change control decisions with material scope, timeline, or financial impact
Client Executive Engagement
- Act as the senior delivery counterpart to CIOs, COOs, Heads of Operations, and other C‑suite stakeholders
- Build and sustain trusted, long‑term executive relationships with clients
- Manage complex stakeholder dynamics, including conflicting priorities and cross‑organizational dependencies
- Protect delivery credibility by addressing risks early and decisively
Financial & Commercial Oversight
- Own program financial governance, including budget management, forecasting accuracy, and resource utilization
- Ensure delivery efficiency and financial discipline across complex, multi‑party programs
- Partner with commercial and product leadership to align delivery execution with client commitments
Organizational & People Leadership
- Provide senior leadership and direction to Program Directors, Program Managers, and Project Managers
- Actively coach senior delivery leaders and resolve high‑impact delivery challenges
- Set delivery standards, behaviors, and expectations across Alpha implementations
- Influence talent development and succession planning within the Alpha Implementation organization
Strategic Improvement & Enterprise Impact
- Drive continuous improvement across implementation methodology, governance, and execution models
- Identify systemic delivery risks and lead corrective action at the enterprise level
- Contribute to Alpha implementation strategy, operating model evolution, and client delivery innovation

Deep understanding of financial markets and investment management operating models, including front, middle, and back office
Degree in a financial, analytical, or related discipline, or equivalent senior‑level industry experience
Extensive experience leading large‑scale, complex transformation programs within financial services, technology, or professional services environments
Strong familiarity with Agile delivery models, highly configurable technology platforms, and modern testing approaches
Experience engaging with global clients and leading distributed delivery organizations
Willingness and ability to travel as required
Salary Range:
$170,000 - $267,500 AnnualThe range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
