ROLE SUMMARY

Provides team management and editorial oversight of investment writers responsible for developing portfolio-level commentary in Japanese language. Role will also be expected to develop and deliver a wide range of written content for an assigned group of deliverables through effective translation of English-language commentary, independent research, analysis, and collaboration with investment professionals. The focus of the content is to clearly communicate factors that have driven portfolio performance, positioning decisions, and other key perspectives of portfolio management to clients and prospects.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage group of editorial professionals with responsibilities including team leadership, performance management, training, workflow management, editorial oversight, and relationship management with local business partners.
  • Write and translate (English to Japanese) investment content for client and marketing communications for an assigned group of investment strategies. These communications include client reports, marketing collateral, and Web content.
  • Works both independently and with investment professionals to interpret data related to portfolio results and investment management decisions. Based on this data analysis, engagement with investment staff, and additional research, produces insightful, clear commentary for local audiences.
  • Delivers content on scheduled deadlines for a range of investment vehicles—including funds, separate accounts, and associated portfolios—and both institutional and retail audiences.
  • Adheres to writing guidelines and internal standards to ensure investment content meets strict compliance, quality, and style requirements.


PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES / SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • 5+ years of management experience.
  • 10+ years of writing/editorial experience.
  • In-depth understanding of investment concepts and financial markets.
  • Knowledge of proposal content and marketing communications best practices
  • Deadline-driven, multi-tasking skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to communicate effectively in Japanese and English, primarily in writing.
