About The Team
The Enterprise Data Architecture team is a central organization built to establish enterprise-wide standards and capabilities as scalable solutions to be used across the enterprise. This team defines and manages enterprise data architectures working with Enterprise Architecture that ensures consistency, scale, controls and compliance to how data is managed. This organization is also responsible for enterprise information architecture.
Role Summary
As an enterprise information architect, you will be accountable and responsible for logical and physical data modeling activities. This role requires a deep understanding of data modeling practices. Excellent communication skills to effectively lead and collaborate with various teams and stakeholders is also required. The governance of our core data model for our data products as an enterprise is critical. Seeking energetic and creative person who enjoys designing and implementing capabilities that can scale across the enterprise. Experience using data modeling tools like Erwin and Hackolade is required.

Responsibilities
- Practicing accountability for self and sometimes others, provides process and standards advice in area of specialization
- Understanding and advocating EA principles and articulating value proposition of architecture to technology partners
- Managing and continuously improving the design and implementation of architecture processes and artifacts
- Ensuring our firm's projects engage architecture early and often on architecturally significant projects
- Reviewing key design decisions with departmental architecture review boards
- Ensuring decisions around architecture are made and deviations from standards are properly identified, addressed, and communicated. Raises issues to the Principal Architects and Senior Managers as necessary
- Participating in and leading reviews of projects that are in flight. Works closely with technical leads of projects contributing solutions to the project’s most challenging problems and able to be hands on as needed
- Ensuring that all individual solution architecture artifacts and changes are documented as per process standards and stored in T. Rowe Price’s EA Library to facilitate compliance, organization, and access
- Coordinating with other enterprise architects as necessary for solution architecture
- Taking control of complex or vague problems and steps through them in a rational way.
- Balancing tactical vs. strategic trade-offs when making decisions or proposing solutions
- Flexibility in your thinking; you excel at providing solutions when additional information or ideas are presented.
- Mentoring junior members of the team
- Identifying when junior engineers need help and providing support in a positive way that promotes confidence.
- Dedicated to helping team members/makes suggestions to improve practices
- Leading a small team on a specific project or task
Qualifications
Required:
- A BS or MS degree in a technical field (or equivalent education and experience) and 5+ years of experience in data-intensive roles.
- A proven track record defining and sustaining data models for data products (conceptual, logical, physical)
- The ability to build, collect, share and govern enterprise standards for data modeling practices aligned to a target information architecture
- Hands-on experience designing effective, high-performing data models for both structured and unstructured data in cloud data ecosystems such as Snowflake, AWS, with expertise in data mapping, lineage, classification, cataloging, and enforcing enterprise-wide data standards
- A genuine passion for data modeling within our industry that drives efficiency in data use and understanding for all consumers
- High level of knowledge in using data modeling tools (Erwin, Hackolade, etc) and maintaining a central enterprise model repository
- A collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills, capable of engaging both technical and non-technical audiences. .
Preferred:
- 5+ year of Data Architecture experience in Asset Management or a related financial services industry

FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.
Work Flexibility
This role is eligible for hybrid work, with up to three days per week from home.
Base Salary Ranges

$118,000.00 - $202,000.00 for the location of: Maryland, Colorado, Washington and remote workers$130,000.00 - $222,000.00 for the location of: Washington, D.C.
$148,000.00 - $253,000.00 for the location of: New York, California
Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual’s relevant experience and skills for the role. Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon company and individual performance.
