ROLE SUMMARY

In order to leverage the time of the relationship managers for the China market, this position will provide support for business development opportunities, service of existing clients and other important business relationships/activities in the region. In addition, the RMA will conduct strategic research, market intelligence, meeting prep-notes and meeting notes in support of the business planning for the group.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Relationship Management Support : Handle ad-hoc requests for prospects and clients as directed by relationship managers. Prepare customized deliverables to address specific questions. This may include preparation of presentations, meeting or conference call set-up, preparation of pre and post meeting notes, follow-up from client and prospect meetings, review of RFPs, collation of information on performance and strategy characteristic etc. This includes direct interaction with both internal shared services resources as well as external communication with clients and prospects. Apply language skills and cultural understanding to appropriately create communications in local language on behalf of relationship managers, if need be. Help TRP navigate some of the issues pertaining to particular cultural differences between China and US/Europe.
  • Account onboarding: Provides support to various aspects of the sales and account onboarding process as directed by senior client facing professionals. Serves as liaison with shared services to resolve any issues, clarify the firm’s client requirements and to provide quality control through out the process. Uses their knowledge of the business to provide proactive recommendations for process improvement, and changes.
  • Event planning coordination and management: Working with the China and APAC relationship management teams, Marketing, and TRP shared services organizations, this person will be involved in the coordination of the research, planning and execution of the China brand-building activities in connection with industry conferences, TRP institutional road shows and other similar events.
  • Client/prospect Responsibility: Assisting hosting the Chinese clients and prospects when visiting the TRP offices in Hong Kong and elsewhere. Liaises with investment professionals to ensure client meeting objectives are met and TRP visit meets the goals of the clients and prospects. Many present TRP overview and any miscellaneous items directly to clients and prospects as appropriate. Limited client entertainment responsibility is involved.
  • Strategic Planning: Conducts and develops market and product research in support of the Asian planning process. Contributes data and recommendations to theChina to the extent of Asia business planning process. Presents market research to the Asian relationship managers. Research may include market assessments, competitor intelligence, market data, marketing research, product and channel market demand assessments by working closely with the Market Research Team.

  • Strong analytical and research skills, strong PPT, Excel skill
  • Knowledge of financial markets, Asset Management industry and best business practices in the AM industry in China
  • Ability to work with all levels of management
  • Ability of attention to details,

  • Interpersonal skills to work within complex matrix
  • Well organized and results focused
  • Ability to multi-task across strategic and tactical projects and work
  • Native Proficiency in Mandarin
  • High proficiency in English in both verbal and written skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • CFA preferred
