Institutional Reporting Analyst Senior

Role summary: Demonstrates in-depth knowledge in assigned area and primarily works without direction to manage, maintain, and provide comprehensive quantitative and qualitative information about CG’s investment strategies including results, portfolio characteristics, ESG positioning, DE&I positioning, portfolio attribution, current investment philosophy, investment commentary and organizational data and statistics to CG’s institutional clients, respond to complex ad hoc client inquiries, and deliver against specific client’s reporting and strategy needs and schedules / cadences. Serves as a subject matter expert on team/department and cross-functional projects and reengineering efforts including, under limited supervision, leveraging project management and project analysis toolsets for medium and large size initiatives, often with significant scope and complexity, and focused on the implementation of new technologies to innovate and automate client reporting capabilities.
Primary responsibilities/essential functions:
• Tactical focus: Across cohort, leads and actively engages in institutional reporting activities including new client and other reporting implementation set-ups and ongoing standard and custom and ad hoc reporting, based on specific client and regulatory requirements. Focuses on driving efficiency in workflow execution, improving processes, and training, onboarding, and operational oversight of analyst level associates.
• Drives onboarding process for new clients, collaborating with multiple internal business partners, and
establishing client report set-ups, both standard and custom including cadences/schedule
• Responsible for creating and/or providing oversight to team in their leveraging of reporting tools, e.g.,
Simcorp CORIC, Blue Prism, and RPA in the production and delivery of recurring, standard and custom
institutional client reports. Production includes taking clients’ specific Excel reporting templates and
requirements – the results/portfolio characteristics the client wants to see - and driving the information,
managing upstream data sources, and populating and segmenting data, e.g., by sector, benchmark,
performance, fixed income duration, risk measures, and aligned to client reporting SLAs
• Provides oversight to team and/or handles reporting/illustrating institutional client portfolio positioning,
specific to how CG is managing holdings, in line with the institutional client’s investment strategy
• Performs analytical reviews over large amounts of investment data to identify inconsistencies and/or
inaccuracies enabling data to be included in reporting results
• Provides comprehensive quantitative and qualitative information about CG’s investment strategies
including results, portfolio characteristics, ESG positioning, portfolio attribution, current investment
philosophy, investment commentary and organizational data and statistics to CG’s institutional clients

• Anticipates changes in customer data needs and enables team to meet any changes
• Ensure all applicable policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements are followed
• Leads the identification and prioritization of workflow and process improvement opportunities
• Develops job aids for department processes and team workflow tools on an ongoing basis
• Participates in the training and onboarding of senior analyst and analyst level associates and identifies
training needs across the department. Recommends enhancements to training plans
• Provides direction and feedback to team and assists them in completing their assignments
• Domain Knowledge Focus: Applies a strong understanding of investment management concepts and CG data
concepts, coupled with in-depth knowledge of relevant global investment markets, the institutional investor
marketplace and its operating mechanics, in supporting the accurate and timely delivery of work and driving
to desired business outcomes.
• Applies working knowledge of the investment management industry, CG’s lines of business and product
structures, the competitive landscape, and the reporting and regulatory environment, coupled with
project management and project analysis toolsets in supporting work inputs and driving to desired
business outcomes
• Demonstrates a strong understanding of investment management concepts and an in-depth knowledge of
the financial services industry, global equity and fixed income markets, related instruments, general
portfolio statistics, and the institutional investment market, applying this knowledge to support the
effective analysis of complex data and information
• Demonstrates and applies an in-depth knowledge of Capital’s funds, mandates, investment process and
various internal groups
• Demonstrates a strong understanding of CG data concepts and accompanying issue resolution processes
to ensure accuracy and completeness of data
• Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of working with internal reporting / RPA tools
• Demonstrates working knowledge in external practices, trends, technology, and information affecting the
department/business area
• Consultative / Business Acumen Focus: Works across several internal and external business partners,
including the Results team, Client Relationship Managers and Client Relationship Analysts, Accounting, Legal,
Compliance, serving as a subject matter and continuous improvement expert. Delivers complex, analytical
insights, problem solving, and remedying of significant data issues, responding to the most complex ad hoc
inquiries involving quantitative data, and ensuring operational effectiveness of key outsourced partners, all in
support of demonstrating client stewardship, providing comprehensive, accurate, and timely responses. Leads
and serves as a subject matter expert on team/department and cross-functional projects and initiatives across
sphere of work including project ownership, system ownership and development, and implementation and
ongoing maintenance.
• Responds to large volumes of ad hoc reporting and data requests from large institutional clients,
identifying the best data source(s) - often requiring complex data analysis, working in SQL, and
interpreting what the client wants to see and how to position and package the response
• Works closely with Information Technology function as a key stakeholder, establishing engagement
and alignment including feasibility studies regarding potential solutions
• Drives the development of UAT test scripts and plans and facilitates UAT execution
• Ensures technology delivers reports that align to clients’ strategies and broader needs
• Partners with data producers to ensure data integrity and any errant data gets corrected
• Performs impact analysis across team to evaluate any potential reporting impacts to respective client
books of business
• Serves as a subject matter expert in performing impact analysis and determining whether to escalate an
issue, where to escalate specific issues, e.g., Client Relationship Analyst, Relationship Manager and
considering items such as client size and understanding specific client sensitivity and state of relationship

• Ensures effective collaboration and partnership with the Results team, Accounting, Legal, Compliance and
other internal stakeholders to ensure appropriate and accurate client reporting
• Ensures the integrity of information in upstream systems, proactively identifying discrepancies, and
partnering with relevant data owners in investigating and resolving the issues and then communicating
the situation to Client Relationship Manager including resolution and implications
• Provides data expertise and responds to the most complex client ad hoc inquiries involving quantitative
data. Also, reviews ad-hoc reports developed by less senior associates
• Develops and manages vendor/outsourced partner relationships, providing direction and ensuring
operational effectiveness for partners involved in participating in the provision of institutional reporting,
e.g., Acuity
• Provides perspective, when applicable, on preferred outsourced reporting partners
• Serves as a subject matter expert on team/department and cross-functional projects and initiatives
focused on evolving institutional reporting capabilities and understanding and analyzing how changes may
or will have impacts to specific teams, identifying the impacts and changes to workflow and evaluating
whether there is a need to make changes to the team’s processes
• Collaborates with manager to recommend departmental improvements
• Serves as a positive role model, coach, and mentor for other associates
• May manage workflow within the team
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Demonstrates a deep understanding of the technology applications that are needed to support the
institutional reporting business including a strong aptitude for learning and working effectively with new
technologies
• Demonstrated ability to work with large databases and manipulate substantial datasets

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, math, engineering, or related field. Progress towards
obtaining a CFA designation a plus
In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital’s annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
