Your role
Are you an experienced, confident relationship builder with excellent regulatory knowledge? We are looking for someone like this to:
• Lead our analysis on key European regulatory and political issues of relevance to UBS entities, in particular UBS Europe SE
• Interact externally and internally to identify upcoming regulatory pressure points and develop our position across a broad spectrum of political and regulatory issues and financial market topics
• Advise our key decision makers on regulatory policy issues and prepare appropriate supporting material
• Coordinate our advocacy work and represent us in key European industry associations and other external European bodies

Your team
You will be working as part of the global Governmental Affairs team, locally embedded in the Government & Regulatory Affairs EMEA team in UBS Europe SE in Frankfurt. You will interact closely with senior management in UBS Europe SE and will play a key part in carrying out the Governmental Affairs mandate covering policy proposals coming mainly from the European Commission, the ECB, EBA and ESMA as well as other European and national bodies. Governmental Affairs overall ensures comprehensive coverage of the activities of governments, regulators and supranational organizations that materially affect UBS.
Your expertise
• Excellent knowledge of the European regulatory environment for banks and financial markets (including conduct and prudential topics)
• Prior proven experience in engaging in the financial services regulatory policy process, ideally in a bank, government or regulator
• An analytical mind and excellent writing skills
• Ideally, an established network with relevant industry associations and external European bodies
• Good communication skills in English and ideally in German
• Proactive as well as stakeholder- and execution-oriented
• Able to work independently as well as collaboratively and to interact effectively with a wide range of internal and external clients, including senior executives
• Able to adapt quickly and effectively to different situations and challenges
