We are looking for an Operational Risk Control Specialist who will perform the following tasks related to the depositary function around:
• safekeeping and verification of the ownerships of the funds’ assets,
• cash flow monitoring, and
• oversight/supervision duties, i.e. ensuring (i) that the procedures and controls comply with the applicable laws and keep up to date with legislation, professional standards and regulatory changes, (ii) the performance of due diligences on fund service providers and (iii) the maintenance and enhancement of the depositary procedures, review programs and checklists.

Your team
You will be part of the UBS Europe SE (UBS ESE) ORC GWM Luxembourg team, embedded into the UBS ESE Group Compliance, Regulatory and Governance (GCRG). UBS ESE is a bank with Head Office located in Germany, it is supervised by the ECB, and is operating in the EU area across different jurisdictions.
You will be located in Luxembourg, with a local reporting line to the Luxembourg Head of C&ORC and with the direct reporting line to the Head of UBS ESE ORC.
Your expertise
The candidate:
• Shall possess at least Bachelor degree
• Shall possess an extensive knowledge of the AIFMD as well as the legal and regulatory framework of Luxembourg investment fund vehicles and banking industry best practices, the role and responsibilities of a Depositary bank, the respective alternative asset classes such as Private Equity, Private Debt, Real Estate and Infrastructure.
• Shall have a minimum of 3-5 years demonstrable and relevant experience in the independent execution from a second Line of Defense (LoD) standpoint of the review of the design and operating effectiveness of the control framework established by the first line of defense.
• Shall demonstrate strong presentation, interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), strong analytical skills as well as conceptual and strategic thinking, self-organized way of working by delivering high quality results in time with a good sense of prioritization.
• Qualifications such as an experience in the AIF depositary function, especially ideally also in investment restrictions controls, and certifications in audit / control / risk management are considered advantages.
• Fluent in English, other language are considered as an asset
• Proficient in MS Office tools
