Your role

We are seeking an experienced Executive Director to lead the Internal Review Group (IRG) function within the Global Banking division. This role is responsible for driving independent reviews of strategic initiatives, governance processes, and business-critical activities across coverage and product teams globally. The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to senior management, ensuring transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate should take responsibilities for:
- Lead and manage end-to-end internal reviews across Global Banking business lines.
- Partner with senior stakeholders to scope, prioritize, and execute reviews aligned with business strategy and risk appetite.
- Deliver high-quality review reports with actionable recommendations and follow-up tracking.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with Compliance, Legal, Risk, and Audit to ensure alignment and escalation of key findings.
- Support governance forums and contribute to regulatory readiness and internal control enhancements.
- Maintain a global view of business activities and ensure consistency in review standards across regions.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to the development of IRG methodology and tools.

You'll be working in the UBSS Global Banking team in Beijing, China.

Your expertise

- Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial services, with a focus on business risk management, internal review, or governance functions.
- Proven track record in managing cross-regional teams and leading strategic initiatives.
- Deep understanding of banking operations and regulatory requirements, with experience in engaging senior stakeholders and regulators.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing across functions and levels.
- Demonstrated leadership in team development and driving cultural and process improvements.
- Fluency in English and Mandarin preferred; ability to operate effectively in a global, multicultural environment.
