Your role
Do you want to keep criminals from abusing the financial system? Are you someone who likes to do the right thing? Do you know how to maintain independence and objectivity?
We are looking for a Money Laundering Reporting Officer (“MLRO”) like you to:
• act as our Guernsey Financial Services Commission (“GFSC”) approved supervised role of MLRO at Credit Suisse Trust Limited (“CSTL”), (part of the UBS Group) under the framework of anti-money laundering (“AML”), countering the financing of terrorism (“CFT”) and countering proliferation financing (“CPF”) legislation enacted in Guernsey (collectively “financial crime”)
• be our principal point of contact with the Financial Intelligence Services (“the FIS”), Guernsey on the handling of disclosures
• receive, consider, investigate, manage and record suspicious activity reports in accordance with CSTL’s internal reporting procedures relating to financial crime and to make reports/disclosures, including but not restricted to suspicious activity reports, to the FIS and other relevant authorities as required
• be responsible for the internal authorisation of relevant transactions (and other acts) in relation to activity carried out in the context of an externalised suspicious activity report in line with local legal requirements
• ensure that CSTL maintains systems and controls (including policies and procedures) in respect of the investigation, preparation, reporting and recording of suspicious activity reports and in combatting financial crime
• provide technical training and guidance to the CSTL business in respect of their obligations under the various applicable financial crime legislation and to maintain a record of such training
• be the primary liaison for enquiries or investigations by law enforcement and other authorities, such as the Guernsey Revenue Service and GFSC into regulatory issues including matters relating to potential criminal activity, provide data for relevant regulatory or other returns and participate in onsite inspections
• work closely with and report to the Head of Compliance/Money Laundering Compliance Officer (MLCO) in providing 2nd line oversight and advice in relation to compliance and financial crime matters and assist the team with general compliance work

Your team
You will be working as part of our Compliance, Operational Risk & Control ("C&ORC") team reporting to the CSTL Head of Compliance/Money Laundering Compliance Officer in Guernsey and will provide oversight to CSTL’s fiduciary business. You will be responsible for implementing our anti-financial crime framework, working closely with and supported by colleagues within our broader financial crime function globally.
You’ll be employed by and work at Credit Suisse (CS Trust Ltd Guernsey) in the Compliance & Operational Risk Control team in the course of Credit Suisse integration into UBS.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ALL CANDIDATES:
Everyone working in Guernsey must hold a Guernsey Employment Certificate or Permit. The Right to Work in the United Kingdom does not equate to a Guernsey Employment Permit. UBS would support an application for a Guernsey Employment Permit.
Your expertise
• at least five years of management level experience, working in an anti-financial crime role and ideally acting in the capacity of MLRO/or deputy MLRO in Guernsey or elsewhere within a trust company
• hold a formal qualification in compliance and/or financial crime
• solid technical knowledge of compliance, regulatory, and legislative requirements in the fiduciary sector
• detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills and a solid understanding of financial crime risks and controls, and the ability to multi-task alongside your day-to day responsibilities
• ability to deliver to tight deadlines, to independently identify and assess financial crime 'red flags' and confidently communicate final decisions to management, front office staff as well as to the GFSC as required, in both verbal and written form
• experience in defining and delivering MI and reporting using Microsoft package (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
