Your role

Are you passionate about non-financial risk and keen to understand how the business manages it? Are you self-motivated and driven with vision, with the ability to drive multiple work streams with stringent deadlines? Are you able to constructively challenge processes and provide innovative solutions to problems?
We’re looking for someone like that who can support the Investment Bank Operations (IBO) in its non-financial risk management activities, specifically to:
• act as a local and regional point of contact within the global IB Business Risk Management (IB BRM) team which is a global team across EMEA, Americas & APAC, working closely with the IB Operations functions and our control partners across a broad spectrum of Non-Financial Risk Management objectives
• work with IB Operations stakeholders and their respective teams and
encouraging best practice and striving for consistency on a global basis and ensure smooth operational processes in line with applicable policies and guidelines
• assist with new business initiatives, regulatory investigations, and ad-hoc requests
• take an active role in several non-financial risk change initiatives working closely within our IB BRM team as well as our stakeholders and other functions globally
• conduct thematic risk reviews in key risk areas
• coordinate and deliver risk training
• oversee, test and monitor the delivery of the Operations control environment by driving best
practice for controls design and operating effectiveness and guide the Operations functions on remediation activities
• provide proactive challenge in all aspects of the role, encouraging best practice and striving for consistency on a global basis
• provide transparent risk reporting to management, compliance & operational risk control, auditors and regulators

Your team

You’ll be working in the Business Risk Management team in Wuxi, China supporting IB Operations. We are part of the IB Operation's first line of defense. The team is responsible for embedding and maintaining the Non-Financial Risk Framework (NFRF) to manage the IB Operations risk environment and deliver related operational risk management change projects. The NFRF provides an integrated approach to managing and operating our business, assists in understanding the cause and effect of non-financial risks and allows us to consistently assess and manage all areas of risk, identify and prioritize gaps, and provide a basis for evidencing effective and compliant principles and practices.

Your expertise

• a good understanding of non-financial risk frameworks and controls
• strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills - high attention to detail is critical
• strong presentation skills with an ability to collaborate with others
• prior experience within a Non-Financial Risk Management / Control function (desirable)
• strong technical skills with the use of UBS AI or automation tools (Nucleus/Co-pilot/PowerApps etc.) (desirable)


• a strong work ethic and a demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and deliver to deadline
• confident with exceptional relationship building and interpersonal skills
• results orientated with a track record for delivering continuous process improvement
• able to provide conceptual input into specific projects and plans
