Your role

As an Execution Trader in Japan, you will play a critical role in supporting the rapid growth of the WM Japan business. You’ll be working as part of the Execution Hub in Japan. We are seeking a professional with experience in equity (EQ) trading/sales, as this will be a key focus of the role. You will be also responsible for the accurate and efficient execution of a wide range of financial products, including both domestic and foreign EQs, Bonds, Funds which includes alternative investments. In addition, you will collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, manage trading systems, and ensure compliance with both local and global regulations.

Key Responsibilities
• Execute and manage orders for a wide range of financial products, including domestic and foreign bonds, equities, funds, and alternative investments.
• Act as a key liaison between GM and WM, providing guidance and support to ensure trades are executed in the most efficient and optimal way.
• Facilitate smooth communication and advise on best practices with clients while demonstrating your sales skills.
• Operate and oversee trading systems while handling manual trade execution and booking where required.
• Effectively manage WM client queries and manual orders, and support new system implementation while ensuring strong controls during the transition.
• Support initiatives to improve efficiency, automation and manage risk; proactively keeping in step with market development.
• Follow regulations, compliance policies, desk policies, procedures and guidelines.

Unified Global Markets (UGM) Japan team has front-to-back instrument responsibility for Equities (EQ), Fixed Income (FI), Foreign Exchange(FX), and Structured Products (SP). We create and deliver a leading offing of various capital market products aligned with our "UBS House View" for WM clients.

Your expertise

Required Skills & Experience
• Minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience with knowledge in Equity execution/trading/sales. (Fixed income experience is a plus).
• Advanced knowledge of Bloomberg, Reuters and Excel
• Business-level proficiency in Japanese and English (both written and spoken).
• Excellent communications, a good attitude, motivation and working

Preferred Skills
• Experience in cross-functional coordination.
• Familiarity with compliance and regulatory frameworks in Japan.
• Advanced data analysis or automation skills (VBA and Copilot)

• High motivation and proactive approach to work.
• Ability to lead collaboration within and outside the team.
