Your role

We're looking for an economist to:
• Develop and maintain macroeconomic frameworks for China
• Apply quantitative and econometric tools to support empirical macro analysis
• Produce high-quality macro research and thematic reports for internal and external clients
• Monitor and interpret Chinese policy development and assess cross-market and cross-asset implications
• Collaborate with global economists and strategists on cross-regional themes

You will be working in the China macro research team. We are an open and energetic team. We work close with corporates and clients.

Your expertise

You have:
• Around 10 years of experience in macroeconomic research; prior experience in a global investment bank or top-tier research institution preferred
• Strong command of econometric methods and empirical macro analysis; proficiency in data-driven research
• Demonstrate research experience in leveraging AI tools to enhance research productivity
• Good understanding of China’s economic data, policy transmission mechanism and financial market implications
• Ability to translate quantitative results into clear macro narratives and investment implications
• Inquisitive, organized and able to work independently
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in both Chinese and English

You are:
• Creative in designing research
• Able to explain market research principles and interpret findings for clients
• Strong team player
