Your role
Do you have the knowledge and experience to drive the business (development) with our Greater China client base? Do you have a track record of successfully managing client relationships? Are you able to create collaborative solutions in challenging and complex situations?
If so, we are looking for a strong candidate to join our Institutional Client Coverage team in HK to lead and grow our institutional asset management business in Greater China, very much as a player / coach.
You will lead and work closely with the incumbent Client Relationship Managers in our Greater China Institutional business.
The role will focus on shaping the business strategy for Greater China and growing our institutional business in the region across the UBS AM capability set. This will be done in conjunction with the incumbents. You (and your team) will be accountable for the delivery of agreed business targets and maximise (new) client mandates by leveraging industry knowledge, internal and external contacts and relationships.
Key responsibilities
• a key role in shaping our strategy for Greater China
• player / coach in growing our Greater China business, leading and closely working with incumbents
• increase corporate & market awareness of the Greater China business, including the promotion of UBS AM at key events and roadshows as required
• contribute strongly to the team’s prospecting activity as a player. Leverage existing and new relationships to grow / diversify our book and achieve growth ambitions for the business
• work closely with the investment teams in both public and private markets, and Partnership Solutions and represent UBS Asset Management and UBS Group as such to organisations across the region
• management of the new business pipeline with the team and delivery of a thorough and organised process to ensure delivery of high quality & timely RfPs; pre pitch intelligence, internal preparation and briefings
• work closely across the firm, leveraging our capabilities in global markets, global banking and wealth management to ensure we deliver OneUBS to our clients

This role is part of the Institutional Client Coverage team, based in Hong Kong.
UBS Asset Management (UBS AM) is a global investment manager with a broad suite of public markets, private markets, and bespoke solutions capabilities. Within Institutional Client Coverage APAC, we focus on building trusted partnerships with Official and other Institutions, delivering tailored investment solutions and advice to our clients in APAC. Given the strategic importance of the region, team members have highly visible roles and collaborate closely with senior management and portfolio managers. The environment is dynamic and entrepreneurial with an opportunity to contribute to further business growth and shape the business strategy for the region.
Your expertise
The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need
• strong preference for a candidate with significant institutional experience in Greater China as a player / coach.
• an understanding of institutional sales processes / cycles in the region
• a strong capability to develop and build relationships with sophisticated and demanding clients
• ability to work independently, use initiative and be proactive, in addition to working effectively and collaboratively with colleagues to maximise sales opportunities across the firm and wider UBS Group
• ability to leverage data driven insights and GenAI to enhance productivity
• deep investment knowledge - CFA charterholder preferred
• fluency in Mandarin and Cantonese preferred in order to cover the local clients
