Your role

Do you want to drive the next level of application architecture in the Compliance IT space? Would you like to apply Agile at scale while developing state of the art Model Deployment and Execution Platform on Cloud? How about shaping the future of Compliance technology together with a fun-loving cross-functional team?

We are looking for a seasoned azure cloud data engineer to

develop data load & transform and model development / execution on Azure Cloud

help us build state of the art solutions that underpin Monitoring & surveillance models and alert generation using cutting edge technologies like Java/Scala, Spring Boot, Azure Data Lake, Kubernetes, Apache Spark, Postgres etc.

driving the data product build‑out, and ensuring scalable, high‑quality data foundations across domains

uplifting and scaling data capabilities within the India team—establishing standards, reusable patterns, governance practices, and engineering best practices

demonstrate superior problem-solving skills.

demonstrate superior collaboration skills in working closely with other development, testing and implementation teams to roll-out important regulatory and business improvement programs


This will be an AD level role based in Pune, India with our growing development presence in the UBS India office.

Your team

You will be a key member of a young and expanding team that is part of the Compliance Technology function. We are a small friendly bunch who take pride in the quality of work that we do. As a team, we provide AI based solutions on top of a big data platform, working closely with peers from the business led data science team, as well as other engineering teams.

Your expertise

degree level education; preferably Computer Science (Bachelor or Master’s degree)

ands-on design and development experience in several of the relevant technology areas (Java, Spring Boot, Azure Data Lake, Kubernetes, Apache Spark, Postgres etc.)

strong coding skills in Java, Spring Boot and other Java based frameworks (must have)

data productization and strategic data design

experience and expertise working in a microservices based architecture

experience in working in a MS Azure (added advantage)

experience in coding skills in Scala or PySpark (added advantage)

have Agile, Test Driven Development and DevOps practices part of your DNA

demonstrate strong communication skills, both to senior management and teams

background in IB or Finance domain with good understanding of finance principles (added advantage)

strong analytical and problem solving skills

collaborative approach towards problem solving, working closely with other colleagues in the global team and sensitive towards diversity
