Your role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead Social Impact and Philanthropy initiatives in Brazil, including our new non-profit association “UBS Optimus Brasil”, which is part of the global UBS Optimus Foundation network. In this role, you will be responsible for advising clients on their philanthropy strategy, identify new grantees and partnerships, support on grant management process, while being a close ally to our domestic and offshore businesses on growth planning and approach towards social outcomes and impact..

Your role:
• Translate the global UBS Social Impact and Philanthropy and Optimus Foundation offering into a compelling, locally relevant proposition for Brazilian clients and implement a structured philanthropy advisory process focused on the needs of clients from GWM, IB and AM
• Systematically cultivate a business pipeline (CA/bankers education, client events, social media presence/thought leadership), thereby increasing the number of donors and donations for UBS Optimus Brazil
• Work in partnership with Program Directors of the UBS Optimus Foundation to source prospective new grantees and to support them through grant management
• Leverage knowledge of the main stakeholders in the Brazilian philanthropic landscape to identify and pursue strategic partnerships
• Work with local management to enhance UBS’s profile as the ‘go-to’ bank for philanthropy advisory and execution services

This role operates within a highly matrixed, global organization. The Director does not own client relationships but succeeds through influence, partnership, and credibility—working alongside Relationship Managers, Client Advisors, Investment Banking coverage, Asset Management, and global foundation colleagues.

Your expertise

We are looking for a strong team-player who can succeed in a dynamic, global environment and is capable of working on a broad spectrum of challenges with multiple stakeholders internally and externally. At the same time, the individual should be a self-starter who feels comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy.

As an experienced professional with proven track record in both business development and philanthropy, you are expected to establish UBS philanthropy capabilities to position our bank as leading provider of philanthropy services in Brazil.

The successful candidate should have:

• Industry experience: deep knowledge of philanthropy combined with extensive experience in working with HNWIs, family offices and institutional clients in how to manage or structure their philanthropic engagements
• A proven track-record in business development (strategy, planning, leadership, stakeholder management & communication)
• Familiarity with a foundation’s grant-making process
• Proven experience in a senior leadership role within the philanthropy sector or a related field
• Strong knowledge of the Brazilian philanthropy landscape and key players
• Demonstrated creativity and strong social and presentation skills
• Flexibility and resilience in stressful situations
• Experience serving on or working with a Board of Directors is highly desirable
• Fluency in Portuguese and English, fluency in Spanish is an additional asset
• you’re curious to explore how AI can improve how we build, deliver, and optimize workflows. You do this with sound judgment – validating outputs and aligning with policies, risk standards, and ethical use.
