Your role
• Conduct empirical and academic style research to further develop the HOLT systematic equity valuation model and downstream analytics
• Analyze company life cycle dynamics, including growth, profitability, and competitive dynamics
• Develop new quantitative scorecards, frameworks and datasets for client use
• Research and enhance methodologies including cash flow forecasting, alternative scenarios, and the interaction between company fundamentals, valuation, and market environments
• Assist in designing, testing and validating enhancements to the framework using HOLT’s financial dataset spanning back to the 1950’s
• Contribute to published written research and internal documentation communicating findings and investment implications
• Assist with model governance and monitoring of model output
• Enhance the use of macroeconomic and alternative data within the framework
• Develop reproducible research workflows with strong documentation and coding practices
• Operate as a research partner to Model Technology and IT, providing direction on analytical design, and implementation priorities

Your team
You’ll be working on the HOLT Model team within Equity Research in Chicago. UBS HOLT is the industry leader in understanding the corporate performance and valuation of equities with a strong client franchise and brand recognition across major institutional investors, hedge funds and wealth managers.
Your expertise
• You’re curious to explore how AI can improve how we build, deliver, and optimize workflows. You do this with sound judgment – validating outputs and aligning with policies, risk standards, and ethical use.
• BS or MS in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, or other quantitative field.
• ideally 1-5 years of relevant experience
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills with experience analyzing large datasets
• Understanding of financial statements, company valuation and equity markets
• Experience with R, SQL, or Python
• Familiarity with Databricks and Spark is a plus
• Experience with statistical analysis, forecasting techniques, or financial data modeling is a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with interest in publication of long-form research papers
• Self-motivated and team-oriented

Salary information
The indicative gross base salary range as a full-time equivalent role:
• United States - Illinois - Chicago min USD 145000 - max USD 172500 /annum
The expected salary for this role will be determined by relevant factors which may include but are not limited to, role-required experience, qualifications, education, location and skill level.
