Your role

Are you a trusted HR advisor who can balance business priorities, employee matters, local governance requirements and regulatory expectations? Do you have the judgement and maturity to support a highly regulated legal entity environment?
We’re looking for an HR Generalist to support UBS CL as the dedicated HR representative for the legal entity. The role will provide end-to-end HR advisory support to line managers and employees, while partnering closely with business stakeholders, HR specialist teams, and UBS Group colleagues to deliver practical, well-controlled and compliant HR solutions.
You’ll play an important role in supporting UBS CL’s people’s agenda, regulatory credibility, governance standards, and operational continuity. The role requires strong judgement, stakeholder management skills, and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with professionalism.
We’re looking for an HR Generalist to:
• provide guidance and support to line managers and employees on HR queries, employee lifecycle matters and workplace topics
• act as the dedicated HR representative for UBS CL, supporting entity-level HR matters, business stakeholder engagement, confidential employee topics and regulator-facing HR requirements
• support core HR activities across performance management, compensation and benefits, employee lifecycle, talent acquisition, internal mobility, organizational change and workforce planning
• partner with the business on workforce initiatives, restructuring / transition activities, staff communications and internal hiring processes
• support UBS CL HR governance, regulatory and audit deliverables, including HR policies and guidelines, performance and compensation governance, consequence management, regulatory reporting, HR submissions and local governance materials
• collaborate with HR specialists and control functions, including ER, EL, Reward, Recruiting, Talent, HR Operations, C&ORC, Legal and regional / global HR SMEs
• provide support on workplace matters and employee relations cases

Your team

You’ll be working as part of the China HR team, supporting UBS CL as a dedicated HR representative for the legal entity. UBS CL operates with its own legal entity governance and accountability, while drawing on UBS Group’s broader HR platform, specialist expertise and advisory support where appropriate.
You’ll collaborate with business leaders, line managers, employees, HR specialist teams and regional / global HR colleagues to deliver high-quality HR advice and execution. The role requires strong partnership across a matrix environment and the ability to serve as a trusted interface between the business, HR specialists, and relevant governance stakeholders.

Your expertise

You have:
• solid HR advisory experience, preferably in a regulated financial institution or complex professional-services environment
• good understanding of China employment practices, HR governance and regulated-entity expectations
• strong judgement and decision-making skills, with the ability to evaluate risk and act within professional, legal, ethical and risk boundaries
• ability to advise employees and line managers on workplace issues, employee relations matters, performance topics, organizational change and other people-related matters
• experience or strong interest in HR governance topics such as performance management, compensation governance, consequence management, policy / guideline review, audit support and regulatory documentation
• strong organization, documentation and execution skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work
• excellent communication skills in Chinese and English
• comfort handling complex, sensitive and ambiguous situations with professionalism, discretion and resilience
