Key responsibilities

We are seeking an SAP ABAP Developer to support current SAP S/4HANA transformation programs. The role primarily focuses on modern S/4HANA development using RAP, Fiori Elements, and CDS-based development, while remaining flexible enough to support transitional or short-term requirements (e.g. ECC or pre-S/4 environments).
This role will suit candidates with strong ABAP fundamentals who have either transitioned to, or are keen to transition to, modern S/4HANA development practices.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and develop SAP applications across ECC and S/4HANA landscapes
• Build applications using RAP and Fiori Elements where applicable
• Develop and enhance CDS Views to support transactional and analytical use cases
• Apply clean-code and performance-conscious development practices
• Develop and expose OData services (V2/V4)
• Collaborate with functional, integration, and AMS teams
• Support Agile delivery across project and support engagements
Technical Skills
ABAP & S/4HANA Development
• Strong ABAP OO development experience
• Exposure to S/4HANA development concepts
• RAP (ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model)
• Fiori Elements (annotation-driven UI development)
• CDS Views (layered modelling, code push-down principles)
• AMDP development
• Modern ABAP syntax
• Integration Suite / CPI iflow development
Development Tooling & Standards
• SAP Business Application Studio or Eclipse ADT
• Git-based development workflows
• OData services (SAP Gateway, V2/V4)
• Clean code principles and ABAP Unit testing
• Performance optimisation and error handling
• Java/Groovy script development
Nice to Have
• Flexible Workflow development
• SAPUI5 fundamentals (for extensions, not freestyle apps)

You'll be working within UBS Finance Technology, joining a global dynamic scrum team of Business & Technical Analysts. We are supporting local and global projects for various business units of UBS AG. Your skills and experience

•11+ years of experience in SAP applications across SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA environments using ABAP OO and modern ABAP programming techniques.
•designed and built scalable applications using RAP (ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model) and Fiori Elements for streamlined user experiences.
•created and optimized CDS Views for transactional and analytical reporting, leveraging code push-down principles and S/4HANA capabilities.
•developed and exposed OData Services (V2/V4) to support SAP Fiori applications and system integrations.
•implemented AMDP procedures, performance optimization techniques, and clean-code practices to improve application efficiency and maintainability.
•worked with SAP Integration Suite/CPI, REST APIs, and middleware-based integrations to enable seamless data exchange between SAP and non-SAP systems.
•utilized SAP Business Application Studio, Eclipse ADT, Git-based development workflows, and ABAP Unit Testing to support agile and quality-driven development.
•collaborated with functional, integration, AMS, and business teams to deliver end-to-end solutions across Finance & Controlling (FICO) and Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes within SAP transformation programs.
