Key responsibilities

Do you enjoy challenging complex corporate credit risk models and making sure they perform in both business‑as‑usual and stressed conditions? Are you looking to grow your quantitative career in a global model risk team while working from Krakow?

We’re looking for a Model Validation Quant to:

- validate Pillar 2 corporate credit risk models (PD, LGD, EAD)
- design and perform quantitative tests, back‑testing and benchmarking analyses for corporate credit models
assess model methodology, assumptions, data quality and limitation
- prepare high‑quality validation reports and present key findings to stakeholders across the bank
- conduct ad-hoc analyses for senior management and regulators

The team

You'll be working in the Corporate Credit Risk Pillar 2 Model Validation team within MRMC Poland. We are a team of 10 people, located in Zurich, Mumbai, and Krakow. The team is responsible for the independent validation of the Corporate Credit Risk models used for various regulatory and internal purpose e.g., Pillar-2, IFRS-9, internal credit risk controls etc.

Your skills and experience

• at least MSc degree in quantitative Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, or quantitative Economics;
• 5+ years of working experiences in model validation or model development, preferably in a bank or a consulting firm
• knowledge of financial markets, products and stress testing regulation, strong interest in the financial services industry, preferably in risk management.
• knowledge and experiences in statistical and economic modeling techniques, ie. Linear regression, logistic regression, Probit Regression, time series, error correction model etc.
• experience in low default portfolio modelling/ validation would be preferred.
• strong coding skills in R, Python, or similar
• excellent analytical skills and curiosity for innovation as well as some experience with AI skills and their deployment
• fluent in English, oral and written
• a team player with strong interpersonal skills
• motivated, well organized and able to complete tasks independently to high quality standards
• you’re curious to explore how AI can improve how we build, deliver, and optimize workflows. You do this with sound judgment – validating outputs and aligning with policies, risk standards, and ethical use.
