About the role

In your role as MI Manager you will make a meaningful and valued contribution from the outset.

This role will provide a great opportunity to co-create an efficient and effective central MI capability, working across Group functions to enable the provision of insightful, actionable and relevant MI to Group, Pensions and Investment stakeholders.

You will also coordinate and where appropriate rationalise, refocus and integrate reporting.

In this role, you will review end to end production methodologies, including data sources, repositories, and technology utilisation. Recommend and deliver improvements which will result in MI which delivers greater insight and more efficient and effective production and distribution.

What you will be doing

As a trusted part of the Finance you will be responsible for:

  • Undertaking an end-to-end review of MI and related assurance information across Group Services and other Group Functions, identifying opportunities to improve insight and the efficiency and effectives of MI productio
  • Assess the use of business intelligence and MI toolsets in use across Group Services and other Group functions, recommending opportunities to improve utilisation of existing technology
  • Building and then delivering Group Services MI as part of an agreed MI framework, providing appropriate commentary, trend/variance analysis and exception-based reporting as required
  • Working with MI providers across the Group to aid the co-ordination of distributed MI production, ensuring alignment with centrally produced Group Services / Group Functions MI
  • Working closely with the Finance Business Intelligence Manager to investigate and recommend implementation of Business Intelligence / MI best practice
  • Developing own and other team members skillsets to reduce single points of failure in the FP&A team, notably with the Finance Business Intelligence Manager
  • Developing the Group’s MI framework over the medium term, identifying opportunities provided by the Pensions Re-platform and USSIM data strategy programmes

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • Experience in assessing MI requirements across complex businesses, delivering improvements leading to more holistic and integrated reporting frameworks
  • Experience in developing Business Intelligence / MI toolsets, including PowerBI
  • Recognised qualification(s) in data analysis and/or Business Intelligence/MI toolset development
