As a Senior Engineering Manager (Adobe Engineering), you will play a critical leadership role in shaping Vanguard’s digital front door for millions of investors worldwide. You will lead multiple engineering teams responsible for Vanguard’s digital marketing web platforms, driving innovation in personalisation, scalability, and performance. Partnering closely with Product, UX, Data, and cross-channel teams, you will enable connected investor journeys that drive measurable business outcomes such as engagement, conversion, and long-term client value.

Role Summary

As a Senior Engineering Manager (Adobe Engineering), you will play a critical leadership role in shaping Vanguard’s digital front door for millions of investors worldwide. This Product Family is central to how we attract, engage, and convert prospects into clients delivering seamless, personalised, and data-driven experiences across every stage of the investor journey.
This role combines strategic leadership with deep technical expertise across the Adobe Experience Cloud ecosystem. You will lead multiple engineering teams responsible for Vanguard’s digital marketing web platforms, driving innovation in personalisation, scalability, and performance. Partnering closely with Product, UX, Data, and cross-channel teams, you will enable connected investor journeys that drive measurable business outcomes such as engagement, conversion, and long-term client value.


Responsibilites

  • Lead, hire, and develop high-performing engineering teams, including Engineering Managers and individual contributors
  • Drive delivery of next-generation, data-driven client experiences in collaboration with Product Managers, architects, and UX strategists
  • Provide technical leadership across Adobe Experience Cloud, including AEM, Adobe Target, Launch/WebSDK, and personalisation platforms
  • Own platform scalability, reliability, performance, and operational excellence for digital web experiences
  • Partner across channels (mobile, email, advisor platforms, call centre, secure site) to ensure seamless and consistent client journeys
  • Translate behavioural analytics and customer data into actionable engineering and product decisions
  • Ensure engineering solutions meet security, privacy, regulatory, and data governance standards
  • Guide architectural decisions and ensure alignment with modern engineering practices including DevOps, SRE, and test automation
  • Identify and resolve complex technical challenges while driving continuous improvement initiatives
  • Define team skill requirements, lead capability-building efforts, and drive upskilling programmes
  • Coach and mentor future leaders through structured development and succession planning
  • Set performance standards, conduct reviews, and manage compensation decisions in accordance with HR policies
  • Collaborate with global stakeholders and influence senior leadership through effective communication and technical storytelling
  • Lead and contribute to strategic initiatives and special projects as required


Qualifications and Skills

  • 10+ years of professional experience in technology and software engineering, with at least 5 years in a mangerial role with a strong focus on application engineering.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience managing engineering teams, including Engineering Managers
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), including headful and headless implementations
  • 3+ years of experience with Adobe Launch/WebSDK and Adobe Target
  • Strong expertise in web development technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Proven experience designing and delivering scalable, high-performance digital applications
  • Strong understanding of MarTech ecosystems and personalisation strategies
  • Ability to translate business and marketing requirements into technical solutions that drive outcomes
  • 7+ years of experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Lean)
  • Experience with modern engineering practices including DevOps, test automation, and Site Reliability Engineering
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical audiences.

Location

This role is based in Hyderabad, Telangana at Vanguard’s India office. Only qualified external applicants will be considered.
